Flagstaff Art in the Park

Get ready for one of the most popular arts and crafts festivals in northern Arizona at Flagstaff Art in the Park. This yearly event takes place over two weekends. You will have already missed the Fourth of July weekend version, but Art in the Park also takes place over Labor Day Weekend. You will find this arts and crafts festival located at Wheeler Park, right in the heart of downtown Flagstaff. This beautiful park offers plenty of shade so you can hide from the sun as you shop from over 70 different artists. These artists come from all over the Southwest, bringing their unique pieces. You can peruse from crafts that include ceramics, soaps, eyewear and clothing, pet equipment, leatherwork, jewelry, glasswork, and so much more. Purchasing something from one of these artists not only lets you shop local to provide further to the art community but also bring home a unique gift found nowhere else. Flagstaff Art in the Park will feature various food trucks and vendors offering tasty food to make sure you don’t go hungry. The Shady Beer Garden offers a variety of regional and local beer, letting you relax sip after sip. Live music is always on hand for the three-day event. As you can see, Flagstaff Art in the Park is no joke and is sure to be an instant favorite for you and your family. Festival hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM all Labor Day Weekend long.

 

Coconino County Fair

Get ready for the largest event in all of northern Arizona with the annual Coconino County Fair. This annual events takes place nearby at Fort Tuthill for a weekend full of festivities. The Coconino County Fair is like your typical fair with carnival games and fair attractions. Bring the whole family to see some truly entertaining activities over Labor Day Weekend. The Coconino County Fair also includes special events throughout the weekend too. Start your festival off with the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival: Mini Renfaire, taking place on the main stage. A livestock and small stock show area will be open all weekend long for particular livestock showcases to watch. The Variety stage offers real life magic shows including a hypnotist and sword swallower. Visit the display of antique tractors to see a moment back in time. Live music will be on hand all weekend, including the Hot Red Chili Peppers, a tribute band to the Red Hot Chili Peppers playing their greatest hits. Of course, the kids will love all of the midway games you will find in the carnival area. Grab a bite to eat from the food vendors such as funnel cake or corndogs. Shuttle services are available from remote parking lots making it easy to get to and from the fair grounds. The Coconino County Fair will take place Labor Day Weekend; hours are from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM Friday through Sunday and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Labor Day.

Celebrate the labor force up in Flagstaff who work tirelessly to produce some of the best tasting beer in all of Arizona. Local favorites include Dark Sky Brewery has always offers a tap list with rotating beers and several core offerings. Mother Road Brewing has been a staple in the community for over 20 years and can be found in the historic part of downtown Flagstaff. Or head over to Historic Brewing Company for their famous Piehole Porter that will give you dessert in a glass. Most of the local breweries are family friendly and offer rotating food trucks so you enjoy food during your visit.
