Lights at the Station

If you are in the mood for a casual stroll through Downtown Flagstaff to see Christmas lights look no further than Lights at the Station. This annual event takes place along the path of the Flagstaff Visitor’s Center. A dazzling light display will be lit up for all to see free of charge. Visitors will be able to enjoy this festive activity during the month of December so make sure to dress warmly to keep your hands and feet cozy.
 

The North Pole Experience

Have you ever wanted an inside look into Santa’s Workshop? If so, make sure to check out the North Pole Experience exclusively found in Flagstaff. This annual event shows off Santa’s magical 400-year-old toy workshop that is decorated from head to toe. This incredible experience has been voted as one of the best children’s activities for the winter in the entire state of Arizona. Additional activities include visiting the Elf University, Santa’s Sleigh Hangar, and Mrs. Claus’ Bakery. The kids can also get photos with Santa Claus himself! The experience starts at Little America Hotel where a trolley will whisk you off to the Magic Portal leading you to the North Pole. During your visit you can enjoy hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies, an honorary elf diploma, and writing a letter to Santa. Tickets start at $42 for children and $48 for adults. The North Pole Experience is available during the months of November and December and each tour lasts around an hour and forty minutes in total.
 

Miracle on 34th Street

The holidays are the perfect time to see a live stage production right here in Flagstaff. This holiday season the Theatrikos Theatre Company will be putting on their rendition of a Miracle on 34th Street. You will be in for quite the treat especially if you have never seen this stage performance before. Enjoy the classic tale of a young lawyer defending a nice old man who claims to be Santa Claus. This story truly exemplifies the holiday spirit. Miracle on 34th Street will be on stage from November 25th through December 18th exclusively at Theatrikos Theatre Company.
 

Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival

While each of these events have been tied to the Christmas holiday not all special events in December are directly linked to the holidays. The Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival will be taking place from December 8th through the 18th at the Gift of the Magi. This festival, also known as FlagShakes, faithfully portrays classic Renaissance activities here in Flagstaff. Each actor driven skit can be viewed that provides learning opportunities and accessibility. Show your family a new side to the holidays with a visit to the Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival.
 

Ride the Polar Express

Come experience the adventures as described in the classic children’s tale of The Polar Express by boarding the Grand Canyon Railroad. Flagstaff is located near many Northern Arizona attractions including the Grand Canyon Railroad that is approximately half an hour outside of the city limits. The Grand Canyon Railroad puts on many themed train rides throughout the year including The Polar Express. This enchanting ride will have you arriving at the “North Pole” to find Santa Claus and his loveable reindeer. Guests of the train ride will be able to enjoy freshly baked cookies and hot chocolate provided by Santa’s very own chefs. Visit Arizona Snowbowl

In between your holiday activities, make sure you and the family have a chance to visit Arizona Snowbowl, one of Arizona’s top skiing destinations. This local peak offers around 260 inches of snowfall each year and provides dozens of ski slopes to ride down.
