Take the Red Rock Scenic Byway

Road trips call for long drives along the highway that showcase the beautiful views around you. Sedona is also home to the Red Rock Scenic Byway. This 8-mile-long stretch of Highway 179 will take you along some of the most famous landmarks in the area. Visitors can hop on the Red Rock Scenic Byway in between mile markers 302.5 up to 310.0. Expect to travel along Oak Creek, Bell Rock, and more with a nice cruise on this highway. What a perfect road trip activity!
 

Take the Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Road

Another great stretch of highway you can enjoy incredible views on is Highway 89A also known as Oak Creek Canyon Scenic Road. This scenic byway takes you North of Sedona as you twist throughout Oak Creek Canyon. This byway takes you away from the Red Rocks that Sedona is known for and instead takes you into a shaded canyon that is full of life. Some fun hiking trails can be found just off the road including a trek up to Oak Creek Vista. You can easily see all of the incredible views that Northern Arizona is known for!

Visit Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village

If you are in the mood for some vacation shopping look no further than Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village. This exquisite shopping center is a collection of pueblo style buildings that house over 50 different boutique shops and restaurants. The cobblestone streets and beautiful sculptures make the village an artistic masterpiece on its own. Local favorite restaurants found inside Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village include Oak Creek Brewery and El Rincon Restaurante Mexicano.
 

Hit Up Slide Rock

Another popular attraction just outside of Sedona that you need to visit during your spring road trip is Slide Rock. This state park offers a shallow pool of water where you and the kids can jump in and go swimming. The water might still be chilly from the winter temperatures but the natural rock slide that is over 80-feet long will be sure to change your mind. We highly recommend going early in the morning before the park gets too crowded and there is a wait to get inside. Local tips: bring water shoes with you as the algae on the rocks make everything slippery!
 

Hit the Verde Valley Wine Trail

The Verde Valley Wine Trail is a local celebrity on its own being a stretch of some of the best wineries that Arizona has to offer close by each other. Make sure to stop by a few of these celebrated locations during your stay so you can see that Arizona wine is just as good as the rest.
