Fat Man’s Loop

Okay, this might not be the best name, but this loop is one of the most popular in Flagstaff! This 2.5-mile round-trip loop is easy enough for families with young children to tackle, or a nice walk after lunch in downtown Flagstaff. You will run into tons of others on this trial as it is one of the most popular in the area for joggers, hikers, and dog-walkers. However, even though it is crowded, the extensive view of the cityscape down below is worth it!
 

Summit Mount Elden

Elden Lookout Trail is a harder trail that is great for moderate hikers who want to have a bit more of a challenge. Head to the top of Mount Elden through this 6.5-mile trail and gain 2,300 feet of elevation to leave the crowds behind and see the nearby aspen trees.
 

Basin Loop Trail

Head to the Lockett Meadow to view springtime flowers and the changing colors of the trees by the Inner Basin Loop Trail. As one of the best hikes in Flagstaff, this trail is only 3.5 miles, making it perfect for those with young children who want to see the colors of Arizona.
 

Arizona Trail

The last hike on this list that is an absolute must during your time in Flagstaff is Fisher Point by way of the Arizona Trail. This trail is located in the southeastern corner of Flagstaff, taking you more than 1,000 feet into the air over 8 miles. Not for the faint of heart, this is a great choice for those who want a full-day adventure.
