Scottsdale is full of fun, entertainment, and good food. You can find some of the latter at Mowry & Cotton at the Phoenician in Scottsdale. Open daily for every meal of the day, you’ll find something to satisfy your taste buds and fuel you up for the day to come, keep you going, or cap off the day. Health-conscious diners can make informed decisions, as meals are marked with a ‘V’ or ‘G’ indicating vegetarian and meals with gluten in them. Pair any of these tantalizing tastes with a selection of wines or cocktails.
From fruit and grain offerings like yogurt parfait, traditional hot oats, and caramelized grapefruit to stomach-fillers like Belgian waffles, brioche French toast topped with lemon curd, raspberries, and vanilla chantilly, and buttermilk pancakes – plain or with blueberry, chocolate chip, or banana, there’s something good for everyone to start the day. Add on fruit and berries, smoked bacon or turkey bacon, or a bagel and smoked salmon, among other items.
If your visit comes during lunch hours, try a mouth-watering flatbread, sandwich, salad, and a specialty dish to keep you going for the rest of the day. Try a wild mushroom, roasted tomato, or smoked brisket flatbread. Warm up with butternut squash soup or try their smoked chili hummus or Mowry French fries. Choose from four different salads, as well as interesting dishes like lamb tacos or the za’atar chicken and ancient grain: a mix of carrot, asparagus, olive, and feta topped with tomato vinaigrette.
Start with veal and black garlic meatballs with mozzarella, tomato jam, arugula, and toast or crispy calamari with jalapeno, avocado, yuzu aioli, and chile pesto. Choose from salads like the burrata panzanella, with grapefruit, pickled onion, arugula, pistachio, dark rye, in a sherry vinaigrette or the Mowry chop with avocado, corn, peppers, cotija, black currant, pheasant, and mole. Try entrees like Icelandic cod, with chickpea ragout, chorizo, meji mushrooms, in pork broth or Scottish salmon – noted as “everything spice” along with charred kale, fennel, and a lemon caper vinaigrette. If you’d rather something from the grill, try the charred hanger steak with wild mushroom, pickled blueberry, and sunflower pesto, or “Mowry’s Big Burger” with white cheddar, MC sauce and fixings on a brioche bun with Mowry fries.
Round out the meal and satisfy your sweet tooth with offerings like warm apple crostada, gelato, and fruit sorbet, lemon meringue, or chocolate chipotle tart: a combination of smoked sea salt cashew popcorn, red berries, and raspberry sauce.
For guests 12-years-old and under, check out the special kids’ menu with selections like a “tower” of silver dollar pancakes, Belgian waffle bites, spaghetti and meatballs, or a mini cheeseburger with American cheese and tater tots. They can enjoy “mocktails” like strawberry lemonade, pineapple punch, and cranberry spritzer. The kiddos can cap off their meal with a chocolate brownie sundae or assorted flavors of gelato or sorbet.
