Art in the Park Festival
Throughout the year in Flagstaff a unique festival known as the Art in the Park Festival takes place in Wheeler Park of Downtown Flagstaff. This annual festival takes place over the Fourth of July weekend in the summer but also Labor Day Weekend for the start of fall. This unique event celebrates the season of art and live music for a multiday event. Wheeler Park is a beautiful and shaded park that offers plenty of space for you to walk around and explore the different vendors set up. You will find one of a kind fine art provided by local artisans that can include jewelry, pottery, paintings, sculptures, and much more. This is the perfect spot to find a unique and locally made gift to commemorate your fall trip to Flagstaff with. This year’s Art in the Park Festival taking place over Labor Day Weekend will be held August 31st through September 2nd. Weekend hours are 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Monday hours are 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Flagstaff Festival of Science

You can find 10 days full of that when you visit Flagstaff in late September when the annual Flagstaff Festival of Science takes place. This yearly event is community celebration of science, education, and wonder that is geared for children of all ages. This year’s event will have a theme of “Accelerating Innovation” and will include a variety of presentations, interactive discussions, hands on workshops, guided tours, and interactions with STEAM professionals. Several events will highlight the different innovative research that takes place right here in Flagstaff. A variety of local institutions such as the observatory and more will host these unique events. The best part of the Flagstaff Festival of Science is that it absolutely free to attend. Flagstaff Oktoberfest
There are plenty of local events taking place in Flagstaff that are perfect for everyone in the family including adults. One popular event that takes place here in Flagstaff each year is the Flagstaff Oktoberfest. This fall festival celebrates everything of German heritage specifically with a variety of events and of course all the beer you can handle. This year’s event is expected to bring back all of the fun festivities of the past including stein holding competitions, brat eating contests, polka dancing, and more. There will be plenty of children’s activities on hand too, making it a great family friendly event. This will be Flagstaff’s 15th year celebrating Flagstaff Oktoberfest and has raised over $125,000 for local nonprofits so far. Come support the community while having a blast at this year’s Flagstaff Oktoberfest taking place on October 5th from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
Flagstaff Community Market
Whenever you visit somewhere new you should always check out the local farmers market to see what is available. Finding locally sourced produce and ingredients is a great way to eat healthy and save a bit of vacation money by preparing meals at your lodging. The Flagstaff Community Market continues to run through the fall until late October every Sunday for your market needs. Each Sunday you can find the Flagstaff Community Market over at City Hall where you can find a selection of regional fruits, baked goods, vegetables, fresh flowers, jams, tamales, honey, and much more. Small and medium sized growers are supported here at the market in order to support the local Flagstaff staff community. You can also find the market at Orpheum on Wednesdays too during this time.
